Written By: Coach MJDid you know that when we exercise it not only improves our physical health but our mental health as well?
Over the past few weeks I have heard it said several times, “I came in with so much stress or anxiety but the majority of it left during my workout!” Even without talking about it, giving yourself time to work on you and forget for a short period of time, allowed any burdens to lift. Maybe not completely and it may not be gone, but your sense of well being was able to be lifted to help you move forward.
Too often we hear "I can’t do that" or "I’m too old to be starting an exercise program" or "I have to deal with...fill in the blank". If we only sit and talk about it, nothing changes.
Taking a chance to try doing something to improve your mental and physical health may seem scary, but the hardest part sometimes is walking through the door the first time!
It’s too easy to give in when our bodies start to change and life gets more challenging. We can take the easy way out and let nature take its course, sit back and compare all our aches and pains, all adding more stress on our minds and bodies over time. Depression happens on many different levels and when we give in to the aches and pains life hands us, we may not even realise we are dealing with it at the time.
Does this sound familiar? Are we feeling like life has seen better days and we are just sitting back taking it? Has the last two years dealing with all the uncertainties of the pandemic and its effects taken you to a place that has left you feeling not like yourself?
Or are we being proactive and taking charge of our lives?
A good effective fitness program can help clear our minds and lighten our mental load, as well as build strength. It does not mean we have to work until it hurts or we break out in a heavy sweat every time, but to move in ways that are safe and manageable for you. This starts by finding a gym that works for you!
Whether you are new to exercise or returning after a break, our Wellness Coaching program offers a place to help you in your fitness journey. We work with low impact movements that can be adapted to your abilities or changed to be the most effective in keeping you moving. If you move well, it is a place to challenge yourself and maintain or build strength to keep you moving well and able to do all the activities you love to do. It is also a place of community with people who support and encourage each other, building stronger minds and bodies together!
Our Wellness Coaching Program is starting soon with 2 Pop Up Classes to give you an opportunity to try out a class on April 25 and May 2 from 9:30-10:30 am. Our 4 week program begins May 9/22.
