Do you ever start a morning workout routine and then it tails off after a few weeks? When you think about it, what is actually happening?
Well a TON of reasons throw off that new routine! Whatever the case may be, I know from personal experience that once that motivation is gone, is there a level of discipline that is left? Hmmm, likely not after a few weeks. Unfortunately, building a habit is not a quick thing to do but it’s absolutely possible!
We need to stop hitting that snooze button, and no matter how much you do not want to get out of your cozy bed, you ignore that little voice inside of your head, saying, “I’ll do it later” or “I will make up for it tomorrow” Well, that tomorrow turns into days, weeks and then…… BOOM. Start over.
Yes we get sick, yes we are overworked at times, yes to all those things that can make you miss a workout. But I am referring to all those times where it's just excuses. Sometimes we need a bit of tough love, we need to push through and get it done!
So my tips are:
1. What is my week ahead looking like? Schedule your workouts in, make the time slot, no matter how short the workout is. Am I gone out of the house by 5:30 am? If so, I know I will be doing a midday workout because I have a window of opportunity! Otherwise, morning spin, run, lifting weights is in the books!
2. SERIOUSLY, stop hitting the snooze! As soon as it goes off, get vertical!! Get up, get a glass of water, throw those workout clothes on and get it done. You won't ever regret a workout!
3. Keep your promise and follow through, the more you keep your promises to yourself, the more you will love yourself and the more happy you will be!
