Bring Fun to Exercise!
Written By: Coach MJ
Exercise doesn’t always have to be hard work to be effective.
At Degree our Wellness Coaching group do a regular workout routine using low-impact movements with either light weight or body weight, adjusting to each individual as needed. They work to their best ability each time and are consistent in coming out each week.
Sometimes we love to change it up!
So for our end of summer class an obstacle course was set up with a few strength and conditioning movements sprinkled throughout. Everyone had a great work out and lots of laughs - but also challenged their fine motor skills working on balance, stability and coordination.
A few examples:
Coordination with ladder work stepping through with various step patterns.
Balance with a heel to toe straight line walk
Strength with farmer carry, sled pulls, bench squats, band work, ball tosses
Stability using a side step over different heights
Cardio with the sled pulls and a short row!
Nothing fancy but something fun covering all the bases to a stronger and healthier body and mind!
We return to our regular class times and workouts of Monday and/or Wednesday at 9:30-10:30 am
Each session runs for 4 weeks with the option of 1 or 2 times per week.
