Weekly Member Update June 1 – 6, 2026

Hey Fam!
Below you’ll find what’s coming up this week in your Group Training classes, we’re hosting a FREE Community Workout in July (in conjunction with Seaforth SummerFest) and our Summer Apparel Order (Tanks and T’s) design as been submitted – orders to be collected soon!

As we get into the warmer weather, we all know that the gym gets a weeeee bit warm, so, a quick reminder to make sure you’ve got water either in your bottle, or use the cups/water cooler at the gym. As well, we ask that tank tops and tshirts be worn when working out at Degree. We like to remind everyone that a good sweat does wonders for the soul (and our health!) Lastly, you might find that some workouts feel harder than they do in the winter, and that’s due to our bodies working harder normally to stay cool. Take breaks as you need and pace accordingly.

See you at the gym, Fam!

Welcome, Coach Eustacia!

We are so excited to have Coach Eustacia officially join the Degree Team! Check out her story below, and make sure you hop into class on Monday and Tuesday AM for a great workout!

What excites me most about coaching at Degree Fitness is the opportunity to be a part of a supportive community that encourages growth both inside and outside the gym.

I have always had a strong desire to help people. With my educational background in Psychology and Child and Youth work, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with a wide variety of individuals, building a deeper understanding of the importance of support, connection, and encouragement in personal growth. As a coach, I’m excited to create that same supportive environment for our members and help them realize they’re capable of more than they think.

Becoming a Mother to three of my favourite humans has also changed my personal mindset  around health and fitness. It has become less about short-term goals and more about longevity. Being able to move through everyday life with strength, energy, and less physical discomfort. Throughout my time at Degree I have realized this goal is very much a shared and collective experience.

This perspective is something I hope to bring into my coaching style by creating an encouraging and welcoming environment where people feel supported at every stage of their journey! Whether someone’s goal is performance, confidence, longevity or simply feeling better in their everyday life, I want members to feel capable, seen and motivated every time they walk through the gym doors!

June 1 – 6, 2026

Monday, June 1
Today’s strength session combines unilateral lower body strength with Lateral Step Overs, with upper body dynamic effort with a Band Assisted Push Up. The goal is controlled powerful movement on the lower body work paired with strong pressing mechanics. We’ll be repeating the Band Assisted Push Ups Wednesday the 10th and 17th, so take note of the band you used today, and the height of the J-hooks.

We’ll retest benchmark “Bear Grylls” next!

Tuesday, June 2
Aerobic intervals today with a big focus on trunk stability, shoulder positioning, and grip endurance. The goal is smooth sustainable movement and not redlining (ie. needing a big break!) We’ll be working our KB/DB Windmills again today so you’ll have a chance to refine them this week if you were here last week.

Wednesday, June 3
Week two of this functional strength pairing focused on unilateral control, stability, and positioning with your Tall Kneeling Landmine Press & Single Leg RDLs. Your goal across both movements is to move with control and intention while building strength through balanced, repeatable reps. After your warm up sets, you’ll complete all working sets with full rest between efforts, allowing you to maintain quality and positioning throughout.

Midline and unilateral strength endurance on deck today for our workout. This will challenge your grip, core stability, and ability to maintain quality movement under fatigue. The goal is to move consistently through all 3 rounds while managing grip and breathing before they become limiting!

Thursday, June 4
A Week Day Super Friend workout! We’ll focus on strongman movements and movement quality work today. This session is designed to keep you moving continuously at a moderate but steady pace while challenging your grip, core stability, mobility, and unilateral strength. Each station has a slightly different demand, so focus on staying smooth and composed rather than trying to sprint early!

Friday, June 5
Week 2/3 of our Banded Sumo Deadlifts & Single Arm DB Split Jerks. Both movements should be fast, crisp, and technically precise, with the emphasis on velocity rather than grinding heavy reps. If the movement slows down noticeably, the weight is too heavy, keep it crisp!

We’ll repeat the ever exciting benchmark “Chupacabra”

Saturday, June 6
This partner AMRAP is a longer mixed modal conditioning piece that will reward smart pacing and efficient transitions. This week you do get rest!
