Group Training Programming
January 5 – 10, 2025
Monday, January 5
We have a primarily strength only day with a short burner at the end. The first portion is about staying light, addressing any tightness in our body, then, adding in some Back Squats and a Dumbbell Overhead Press variation!
Our workout will test your midline stability, as both movements will challenge the core in different ways. Rest as needed between rounds and exercises to maintain good position.
Tuesday, January 6
Today’s cardiac output session is a stations workout. For the first two stations you’ll work for 1:45 and have 15s of rest/transition time between stations. The goal for the first two AMRAPs is to complete at least two rounds each time. Keep weight barbell weight moderate for your Hang Power Cleans (these can be done with dumbbells, too!), you’ll be completing about 50 reps today 😉
Wednesday, January 7
Build to a heavy double in the Close Grip Bench Press over 4 sets with some band work inbetween. Think about bending the bar in half, pull the shoulder blades together and stick the chest out, making sure to drive the feet into the floor, and hips into the bench. This is week three of building to this lift so you should be able to do well here!
Today’s giant set finisher is for quality, so challenge yourself to keep movement perfect for all 4 rounds! You’ll do some Lateral Lunge variations, strict Toes to Bar/Hanging Knee Raises (or sit ups or toes to rig are great options!)
Thursday, January 8
Partner up today and finish your “100 themed’ workout! Have a plan to break work into manageable sets with this partner workout and have fun =D
Friday, January 9
Today is the start of a three week progression is dynamic effort work heavy kettlebell swings. For example, if you normally use a 26lb kettlebell for swings, we encourage you to try 30lb or 35lb! Will follow this up with some some direct glute work #bunzofsteel
Today’s couplet workout will be faster paced. Use a weight that you can complete all reps as close to unbroken as possible. Try to rely on your hips as much as possible on your Push Presses, keeping the elbows high during the dip so the bar could be supported on your shoulders even if your hands weren’t holding it!
Saturday, January 10
Split work as you see fit today with your partner, ideally keeping sets on the smaller side to be able to keep the pace up. Don’t go all out on the row, though! Keep your pace in the 80% range which will allow you to perform better on the barbell and gymnastics work. Front Squat will be cleaned from the floor if using a barbell. f there is any doubt about what level weight to use, lighten the load and move faster + better!

Check out the Burpee Box Step Up!
You’ll see this exercise in your group training classes today. Keep in mind you can do a box jump, as well, this movement can be done with plates. Truly something for everyone!
