January 19 is known as “Blue Monday“; While the scientific research isn’t sold on it, the feelings can be all to real.

The holidays are over, we haven’t seen sun in, literally, weeks. It’s cold, there isn’t another holiday for what seems like forever. So, we inherently can feel kinda cruddy this time of the year.

All week we’ll be sharing tips and tricks in teh Degree Family Facebook group, as well, the QR code to scan to treat yourself this week at Tim Hortons!

January 19 -24 , 2026

Monday, January 19
We’ve got a giant set for our strength portion today working on muscle hypertrophy (muscle growth!) and brining back our Offset Deadlift we haven’t done in a while. This deadlift variation is a core exercise, so you don’t need crazy amount of weight here to get the benefit of this movement.

Lastly, we’ll challenge ourselves with benchmark repeat “Struggle Bus”.

Tuesday, January 20
We have two 15 minute AMRAPs today. One is focused on a higher intensity and the other is focused more on mobility/core work. You’ll be able to challenge your overall endurance during the first portion, then, we encourage you to really work on solid, full range of motion for the second bit.

The more we bend, and the more we are able to move and have full range of motion the less likely we are to experience injuries of any nature in our lives. So important!

Wednesday, January 21
Finishing off our Pull Up/Tricep work from last week, you’ll have the opportunity to work on pull up progressions today (from ring rows to banded pull ups, to strict pull ups to weighted pull ups – your Coach will guide you!) If you were here last week, try to do the same variation so you can see progress. If you weren’t’ here, no sweat, there is something for everyone!

Today’s conditioning workout is an aerobic power conditioning session. Do your best to stay consistent each round, start off a little slower in round one and adjust your pacing accordingly in subsequent rounds. Aerobic Power is defined as maximum rate your body can produce energy using oxygen as it’s main source during sustained exercise. This is the combined efficiency of your heart, lunges, and circulatory system to deliver oxygen and is crucial for overall endurance.

Thursday, January 22
Today’s cardiac output piece blends cyclical output with rotational work. This workout will challenge midline strength, grip stability, and aerobic conditioning. Aim for repeatable row splits each round (the same time to row the distance each round). Start a little slow on round 1 and adjust accordingly!

Cyclical Output refers to a training style that uses continuous and/or repetitive movements. This helps us build our aerobic capacity and overall endurance.

Friday, January 23
*Last day to order your Winter Apparel!

We’ll do our last week of heavy kettlebell swings, then, do some accessory work for our triceps and hamstrings. Time to feel the burn!

After our strength portion we’ll repeat benchmark workout “Today Years Old”!

Saturday, January 24
We’ll do some Rowing Drills prior to our workout to really dial in our form. Then, we’ll do things slightly different today where each Partner will complete all the reps of each exericse frist. Essentially an “I Go, You Go” style of workout to kickoff your weekend!
