Weekly Member Update February 23 – 28, 2026
We are t-minus 5 days until our first official Intramural Open workout happens! We will announce the workout officially Thursday afternoon in the Degree Family Facebook Group HERE. If you’re not on Facebook, no sweat! Just show up to class and your Coach will guide you!
A few quick reminders:
Friday Night Lights are part of your regular Group Training Membership. If you are doing your workout at that time you’ll reserve in ZenPlanner as normal. If you’re coming to cheer everyone on and hang out you don’t need to reserve in Zen, just show up!
We ask that you attend class on either Friday or Saturday, not both. They are the same workout both days and we don’t want to overtrain. Saturday classes will tend to be a little quieter, so we still encourage you to come out and cheer your buddies on, or, complete your workout on Saturday if you prefer a ‘quieter’ vibe.
Ultimately, have fun! This is such a fun season at Degree full of cheers, camaraderie, and really coming together in celebration of fitness and Degree family!

Group Training Programming
February 23 – 28 , 2026
Monday, February 23
Back Bench Squats are on the strength menu for today. This style of squat reduces the wear and tear on our joints, and builds better, stronger glutes. By having a target to sit back to, the Back Bench Squat teaches us how to effectively load our glutes and hamstrings = more gainz!
We’ll repeat benchmark “Atlas”! This workout will tax the shoulders to a high degree so take strategic breaks with the first three pieces so that you don’t hit fatigue too soon.
Tuesday, February 24
This cardiac output piece blends steady running with controlled, multi-plane strength and mobility work. Aim to maintain a conversational pace throughout all five rounds, keeping effort in the moderate range and avoiding the temptation to push the run too hard early. Use the row as a way to settle into rhythm rather than spike heart rate!
Cardiac Output is the amount of volume blood (usually measured in litres) that your heart can pump around your body per minute. The better your cardiac output, the better your blood pressure will be, the less brain fog you will have, you’ll be more efficient at your shorter workouts, and you’ll have the energy and stamina to keep up with the demands of day to day life outside of the gym!
Wednesday, February 25
Final week of our Push Press & Weighted Step Up series. If you were here last week aim to improve form and/or increase weights used by 5 – 10lbs (max).
The workout is a short, high effort triplet using Push Ups, Pull Ups/Ring Rows & Deadlifts. The goal is to move at a challenging but repeatable pace, keeping effort high without letting any single movement completely stall progress. Plan to break sets early and intentionally to avoid hitting failure, especially on the Pull Ups/Rings and Push Ups!
Thursday, February 26
Today’s Rebound Conditioning session blends moderate aerobic work with frequent mobility resets, followed by controlled strength work. The AMRAPs should feel smooth and sustainable rather than rushed, settling into consistent pacing early and using the mobility pieces to improve movement quality, getting into deeper range of motion each time you return to the mobility work.
This type of training is really good to develop our Type 2 muscle fibres (the fast twitch ones responsible for reflex, speed) and assist our lymphatic system to drain properly.
