February Push Up Challenge for Mental Health
Degree has created a Team for the Canadian Mental Health Association Push Up Challenge!
If you’d like to take part you can either REGISTER HERE, or, donate to the Degree Team. All money donated will go to the Huron/Perth Branch.
*Push Ups do not need to be done in classes, however, any push ups you do in your classes would count towards your total Push Up count!
If you plan on completing some of your push ups on off class hours we ask that you refrain from using the gym floor due to the small space. If there is a Personal Training appointment happening, usually the far end of the gym near the dumbbell rack/wall balls is open. If it is the last class of a morning/day we ask that anyone try not to stay too long as our Coaches may have other commitments to get to.

Group Training Programming
February 2 – 7 , 2026
Monday, February 2
This is a two-week wave of repetition effort Pause Back Squats. Leave some room in the tank to progress for next week. Treat the pause as active, not relaxed, meaning you should stay tight through the core and upper back. Keep pressure through mid-foot and use a load that allows consistent depth every rep. No bouncing out of the bottom! Our goal for this is positional strength, time under tension, and confidence in the bottom, not max loading.
This workout will be reminiscent a particular Open Workout. It includes a bunch of Wall Balls and a bunch of Calorie Rowing… Any guesses?!
Tuesday, February 3
Skill work on deck today followed by a longer AMRAP with varied movement patterns. The first portion serves as both a warmup and skill practice with skipping and inversion work. Keep effort moderate with good positions. We have a progression to build rhythm and timing with the jump rope today and also option for those that aren’t skipping and for those that don’t want to go upside down. Everyone will benefit!
Wednesday,February 4
We’ll start with our high volume Wenning Warm up and the proceed to a varying grip Bench Press. You’ll complete 3 different grips today: Close Grip, Regular Grip, Wide Grip. We’re adding one additional set to each grip today. Speed reps today, keep it light!
We’ll finish the day with to contrasting workouts; one includes resistance (free weights or barbells) and the other is bodyweight. If you love things that aren’t technical and just want to dig your heels in, today is for you!
Thursday, February 5
Today’s session blends midline stability and grip strength with a longer partner conditioning piece. The first portion should feel like quality, intentional work, don’t rush! The partner piece is where you can push output. Choose a load for Farmer Carries that challenge your grip and posture while allowing you to move smoothly for the full 100m – tall posture, ribs down, and avoid leaning or rushing the steps.
Friday, February 6
Week 2 of your strength giant set. If you were here last week you will be able to add 5 – 10lb to your movements if it feels good to do so. #gaintrain!
Retesting benchmark “NDE”. Choose a Pull Up variation that allows you complete them in no more than 2-3 sets. Avoid redlining! Small, repeatable sets will outperform one big set followed by long breaks.
Saturday, February 7
Todays’ partner piece has three different elements, with the third portion being a longer row. Everything should be light and managable to move through smoothly.
Celebrate the start of February with your Super Friend today!
