Weekly Member Update December 8 – 13, 2025
We’re heading into the second week of December and hope that your month has been off to a good start (and lots of snow!)
If you’re taking part in the Pace Setters challenge, all of your classes and appointemnts this previous week have counted towards your progam specific class/appointment goal. Congrats!
Even if you’re not working towards these sepcific numbres, ti’s a great idea to do your best to stick to your current Membership class/appointment numbers. December can be a tough month not just for the weather, but also sticking with your workouts.
The best part about being a Degree Family member? You’re not alone.

Degree Pace Setters Challenge!
December 1 – 31, 2025
Check out your two other tips to crush your Pace Setters Challenge HERE (1) and HERE (2). Now, onto tip 3!
Let go of any expectations of what your Pace Setter challenge should look like; focus on the possibilities that can arise and go for it!
We want to have a focus, for sure. A specific number is what we’re going for in this challenge. It’s important to note that the most important thing you can do is just show up. Every day will be different, because we are different every day. From what’s been going on in our life outside of the gym, how we’re sleeping, how we’re staying hydrated or fuelling our body, that all impacts our we feel during our workouts.
By going into this challenge with an open mind, and honestly, a sense of FUN, you will enjoy it more, remember why you want to work out (even on the days you don’t 😉 ) and overall be open to all of the amazing possibilities that are there for you!

On the first day of Fit-Mas my Coach gave to me…

Group Training Programming
December 8 – 13, 2025
Monday, December 8
Build to a heavy double today in the 1 ¼ Back Squat. This lift allows us to rack up some serious time under tension which results in better strength gains and injury prevention in the long term.
Today’s benchmark workout “James B” is intended to push your intensity! With that said, loading needs to be light. Break sets strategically on the bar work to maintain your output at a high level. The time cap is tight so let’s get ‘er done!
Tuesday, December 9
Today we start a two week skill practice with Pull Ups. Choose whichever variation you want to work on (ie. Toe Assist, Banded, Hollow Hangs) and do small sets focusing on improving technique. The “Banana Roll” helps to develop control and body awareness of the two most important positions for gymnastics skills.
*Not interested in Pull Ups? No sweat! We have other options, too!
Today’s EMOM will have you moving consistently through 4 stations, 15s of transition time for minutes 1-3, and a slightly longer rest on minute 4. You should choose a Pull Up option that allows you to complete the work in 2 sets or less. Alternate side on the KB Rotational swing every 5-10 reps. Training rotational strength is a great way to bullet proof the body, and improve your sport performance (ie. broomball, skiing, snow shoeing, golf, hockey, running, all of it!)
Wednesday, December 10
Everyone crushed our functional bodybuilding superset last week! We’ll complete one more week of our Glute Bridge Floor Press & Single Leg Lunge work. Aim to increase your weights by 5 – 10lbs, and refine the single leg variation you chose from last week.
Classic CrossFit benchmark, DT, we’ll use dumbbells today! A good strategy here is to complete 11 reps of the deadlift and take a short rest, then pick up rep 12 and continue with the rest of the complex. Try to get your hips involved as much as possible today to make the dumbbells feel ‘light’!
Thursday, December 11
Today’s cardiac output work has a variety of different movements to keep you moving and engaged. Focus on your breathing and keeping your pacing under control. We’ll include a little KB mobility work at the end!
Friday, December 12
Final week of our Banded Deadlifts & Single Arm Split Jerk variations; your Coach has done a great job leading you thus far, so, let’s do this thing!
Ya’ll are gonna love this one. Interval work with some Meter Row Sprints, a few push ups, a few lunges and some rows. Dig deep, feel the burn.
Saturday, December 13
Partner up and work through this three part workout. In the first AMRAP, partners will take turns completing a full round at a time. For part two, work is split, and for part three both partners work at the same time.
A seriously good start to your weekend 🙂

Check out the Banded Glute Bridge!
This is a great option for Kettlebell Swings or Deadlift versions as needed; it offers the similar engagement of the hamstrings and glutes, without the extra tension on the lumbar spine.
