Weekly Member Update August 24 – 29, 2026

Hey Fam!
We had the honour of receiving the Huron East Community Award for “Wellness Warrior” recently and couldn’t be more proud!

Since day one, Degree was always meant to be more than just fitness. We want you to feel like Degree is your gym. Your space to be yourself, improve your fitness and your health, meet some cool people along the way and truly, truly improve all aspects of our lives.

At Degree we Moms, Dads, Sisters, Brothers, Aunts, Uncles, Grandma’s, Grandpa’s, business owners, Doctor’s, Nurses, Contractors, Accountants, Bookkeepers, Retail workers and so many other professions and walks of life in between.

To be a space where we can all come together for one common goal: improve our fitness and health so we can spread kindness and be a guiding light to everyone in our community.

What you do is inspring, make no mistake.

From Coaches and Staff that are absolutely delighted to see you and coach you, to your fellow Members that when they tell you “good job” they mean it from the bottom of their heart.

We could go on and on, but that would take forever haha.

Regardless, we love Huron East, we love Seaforth and we love you.

Let’s have an awesome week, Fam!

Reiki appointments available!

This energy practice originated in Japan where your practitioner (Kelly!) uses specific hand positions, resting hands lightly on the body or just above to guide your body’s natural energy into a deeper state of relaxation and well being.

Clients often feel more grounded, find more mental clarity, find that the ‘noise’ in their mind quiets, and often come to simply give their body, mind and soul a little TLC!

Appointments are 50 – 60 minutes and are $75+tx. Including a short chat after to chat about what you noticed, what I noticed and how it all weaves in for your greatest good, and if you have any questions in general.

August 24 – 29, 2026

Monday, August 24
Today’s goal is to build to a challenging set of 4 in the Anderson Zercher Squat – a new exercise for everyone, while maintaining excellent positioning from the bottom of every rep! You’ll build a killer core and rock solid legs with this strength exercise.

Our workout is designed to build upper body pressing strength, horizontal pulling stability, and glute endurance. Choose loads that allow you to move with control on every rep, focusing on quality contractions rather than rushing between movements.

Tuesday, August 25
This longer duration AMRAP is designed as a sustainable aerobic effort. Work at an effort of 6/10, moving continuously while resting as needed between movements to keep in that effort range. Stay relaxed early, prioritize smooth transitions, and aim to maintain the same pace from the first round to the last.

Wednesday, August 26
This is a two week wave of full body functional bodybuilding style work! Choose loads that allow you to complete every rep with excellent control, finishing each set with 1-2 reps in reserve – you’ve got this!

We’ve got a cool mash up of running/rowing and a single arm farmer carry this week – similar to last weeks but just different enough to keep things interesting 😉

Thursday, August 27
Today’s class alternates moderate aerobic work with mobility resets before transitioning into a higher-intensity mixed modal AMRAP. Use the opening and closing aerobic pieces to recover while improving movement quality, aiming to move a little better each time you return to the mobility work! The middle AMRAP should be performed at an effort of 8/10, maintaining smooth transitions and minimizing unnecessary breaks.

We’ll also be tossing in a 3 week deadlift wave to see gains in strength and form!

Friday, August 28
Week 3/3 of our PAP (Post-Activation Potentiation) Contrast Jumps. The weighted jump primes your nervous system to produce more power on the unweighted Box/Plate Jump. We’ll have lots of different variations based on how high you want to jump (it can even be 1, 45lb plate) and/or if we want to do weighted or unweighted.
– Last week so let’s give ‘er!

Then we have a really cool strength super set with a few new movements today to play with!

Saturday, August 29
Unlike most Saturdays, today will not be done as a partner workout. We’ll be taking “Run Forrest” out for a rip. Make a plan, stick with it and let’s do this thing!

“Warrior Lunge”
Get a head start on this new movement we are introducing this week! And no sweat, we’ll walk you through it and make any adjustments we need to so YOU are successful!
