Weekly Member Update August 17 – 22, 2026
Hey Fam!
Let’s talk ‘health span & life span’ …
We want to be healthy, that’s a given. We want to avoid chronic and acute illness. We want to avoid physical injury. We want to age well. We want our lab work and check up’s to be boring and all good markers. We want to know that our body as the ability to be resilient. This is our health span.
Then, we have life span.
We want to feel good in our body and in our clothes. We want to pick up our kids, run with them, dance with them. We want to enjoy walks and hikes with our loved ones. We want to be able to enjoy our life, and live it without wondering if we’ll physically be able to do things (within reason… realistically we can’t compete with the Hulk as cool as that would be) like help our friend move, sign up for the 5K run, do the El Camino Maitland Trail Walk, or whatever it is you enjoy.
Every time you finish that workout.
Every time you finish that 1:1.
Every time you reserve your class and show up.
You’re increasing your health span and life span!
This is no small feat, and we are incredibly proud of you. Your entire gym family is incredibly proud of you. You never, ever have to wonder this.
Stay awesome, and let’s keep spanning our horizons in fitness and LIFE!

Reiki appointments available!
This energy practice originated in Japan where your practitioner (Kelly!) uses specific hand positions, resting hands lightly on the body or just above to guide your body’s natural energy into a deeper state of relaxation and well being.
Clients often feel more grounded, find more mental clarity, find that the ‘noise’ in their mind quiets, and often come to simply give their body, mind and soul a little TLC!
Appointments are 50 – 60 minutes and are $75+tx. Including a short chat after to chat about what you noticed, what I noticed and how it all weaves in for your greatest good, and if you have any questions in general.

Group Training Programming
August 17 – 22, 2026
Monday, August 17
Week 2/2 using Poliquin’s 6-12-25 protocol, designed to build strength, hypertrophy, and muscular endurance in our lower body. This method is effective as it blends functional strength and lean muscle growth all in one! We’ll do the exact same movements as last week so you’ll really be able to refine them this week.
We’ve got two shorter interval workouts today to work on power production. You’ll run or row, and then go for max distance farmer carries to really build core and grip strength.
Tuesday, August 18
This workout combines skill, power, and gymnastics into a steady-paced effort. Move with control on the technical movements while using the Skipping/Variation as an opportunity to settle your breathing before hitting the next round.
We’ll finish with a bicep and glute burner!
Wednesday, August 19
Week 2 of this functional bodybuilding-style work, focusing on improving unilateral strength, stability, and control through a full range of motion with your Seated Arnold Press & Single Leg Squats. Start with your weaker side on both movements and match that quality and rep count on your stronger side!
We’ve got a 3 round workout following with Barbell/Dumbbell Rows, Dumbbell Snatches or Cleans and a little Run/Row to top it off! Find a pace that allows you to move through the weighted work with minimal breaks, using the run/row to settle your breathing before starting the next round.
Thursday, August 20
Switching it up today with a strength portion before our workout! We’ve got a shoulder exercise and a core exercise to start, then, the workout is all about producing repeatable efforts. Push each work interval with intent, but use the rest to recover so you can maintain your pace as the distances and reps decrease!
Friday, August 21
Week 2/3 of our PAP (Post-Activation Potentiation) Contrast Jumps. The weighted jump primes your nervous system to produce more power on the unweighted Box/Plate Jump. We’ll have lots of different variations based on how high you want to jump (it can even be 1, 45lb plate) and/or if we want to do weighted or unweighted.
– Use the same version you did last week if you were here for consistency.
Repeating benchmark “Quad Dammit!” It’s as fun as the name sounds 😉
Saturday, August 15
This workout looks for smart pacing and efficient transitions with your Super Friend! Push the run/row at a sustainable pace that allows you to move to each station immediately, keeping breaks on the Deadlifts, Knee Raises/Core work and Push Ups short and intentional. Have fun with this one!
