The Power of Restorative Yoga
Writtten by: Kelly Miller, Coach
When we think of Yoga, we often think of Sun Salutations, Up Dogs, Down Dogs, constant flow, etc.
That is one type of Yoga, usually referred to as Hatha or Vinyasa style.
Restorative Yoga brings a different element, and one that cannot be overlooked!
Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing, deeply passive form of the Yoga practice; this promotes healing physically and emotionally, calming our nervous system, decreasing stress, and is so gentle on our joints.
It’s the style of Yoga we all need, but aren’t getting enough of.
This day and age demands so much of us; schedules, deadlines. The concious or unconcious belief that we have to alwasy be going, chasing the next thing, keeping up.
When we live in this state the majority of our days, we start to feel run down, foggy, achy, maybe we are getting sick more often, we’re irritable; we simply feel like something needs to change but we don’t know what. And then we continue to repeat that cycle.
Restorative Yoga offers you the chance to slow down, or stop completely for that class.
It brings you back to your base level of living, breathing, and allowing your body, its cells and tissues to do exactly what they are meant to do – help you heal and rejuvinate!
If you’ve been looking to feel more grounded, and simply take a pause, join us for your upcoming Restorative Yoga classes this March!
