Make Statements or Make Progress, You Choose!
Written By: Jackie, General ManagerWe all have a choice in life of what we want to accomplish. For many, starting a fitness or wellness journey has the best intentions at the beginning, but somewhere along the way, excuses prevail.
Hard days, especially, can have a profound effect on how quickly your excuse will overtake your mind. Do any of these phrases sound familiar?
- I don’t have time
- It is too expensive
- I don’t know how to do any of the movements
- I have kids I need to look after
- I am just not motivated
- I am to tired all the time
And the list can go on, and on, and on…..
So, how do you overcome some of the most common excuses/statements?!
“I’m too busy”
Remember that you don’t need to spend hours at a gym. Small amounts of time can have profound health benefits. Perhaps a 30 minute HIIT Bootcamp or 30 minute 1:1 session works better for you. If you value your health, you will find time to exercise by making the time. That can be early in the morning or after work. You have to choose to make time for your health! Schedule it and show up for yourself!
“I am not motivated”
Working with a coach or trainer will hold you accountable to someone! Participate in a group class where you show up not only for yourself, but for the group and the coach! Find an exercise routine that you enjoy and stick with it! Make it a part of your routine!
